屈原下定决心，一定要为权县拔掉这颗毒瘤。于是屈原向楚王陈明情况，楚王对权县乱象大为光火，派景颇速去权县彻查此事。而屈伯庸再次和屈原谈及婚事，再次被屈原拒绝，屈伯庸得知莫愁和屈原情比金坚，而莫愁竟然是渔民之女，大为光火。景颇怕因景连之事牵连自己争夺令尹之位，于是赐景连毒酒，毒杀景连以求自保。景颇对临死前的景连推心置腹，答应帮其料理后事并善待其家人。处理完权县事宜，屈原又要面对父母逼婚，屈原再一次申明自己的态度，非莫愁不娶。屈母无奈，找莫愁谈话，希望她能成全屈原和昭碧霞的婚事，因为二人才是真正的天作之合。莫愁表面听从，实际上更加坚定了自己和屈原长相厮守的决心。为了退掉婚事，屈原又一次找昭碧霞商议，不料，昭碧霞把仓云惨状全部归于屈原身上，当面刺杀屈原。昭碧霞没有刺杀成功，屈原不仅不加怪罪反而更加关心昭碧霞，醋意横生的莫愁很是生气，转身离开。
