NING has returned to Beijing earlier as arranged by CHUEN while Lady CHAN is also summoned to see the Empress Dowager. NING asks the Empress Dowager to allow Lady CHAN, his biological mother, to leave the Palace so that she can enjoy a peaceful life in her remaining days, but his request is rejected.
