Every house has a tale to tell
Ashcombe is in the heart of Ballarat, one of the most historically significant towns in Victoria. In the late nineteenth century. Starting his search with the bottles, Adam enlists the help of local glass expert Steve Greenwood. He discovers they’re linked to a funeral parlour that once stood next door, and the bottles provide a curious insight to life and death in the Victorian goldfields. Tracking through the trail of title deeds and library records, Adam traces Ashcombe’s history to a young, savvy entrepreneur, George Crocker, whose name is still recognised in Ballarat today.
