民国初年，遭警务所通缉的流水侠米酒儿为了养活大杂院的贫苦流民，阴差阳错下以云衣坊管事鹿以菱的身份来到云衣坊。而鹿以菱本是云衣坊对家彩绫阁派来云衣坊偷拿《云衣录》上册的奸细，只是中途被云衣坊东家骆胤燃策反，帮骆胤燃拿回在彩绫阁的《云衣录》下册。但此时，已经变成米酒儿的“鹿以菱”不仅给不了骆胤燃《云衣录》下册，行为也变得怪异起来。骆胤燃怀疑米酒儿身份并试探，却被米酒儿吸引。同时，前来彩云镇寻找最佳制衣坊的海城商会之子裴卓，来云衣坊考察，对性格活泼的米酒儿愈发喜欢，并多次暗中帮助酒儿躲过骆胤燃的试探，三人上演了一出啼笑皆非的欢喜闹剧。最后，知晓米酒儿真实身份的骆胤燃，面对他人的拆穿，数次保护米酒儿。
