怀揣梦想的平凡少女沈螺（郭碧婷饰），远离喧嚣的城市，回到安静的海岛生活。不料偶然间救起一个叫吴居蓝（冯绍峰饰）的男子，竟然是个和人类的进化方向完全不同、来自大海的高等生命体——鲛人。他以不凡的能力和智慧一次又一次地帮助沈螺度过难关，战胜危机，深深地吸引了沈螺。两人一路磕磕绊绊，从互相了解到互相信任，最后产生了深深的爱情。 由于沈螺身上有一颗鲛人灵珠，引起了安佐的觊觎，想要灵珠救活养父。安佐绑架了沈螺，吴居蓝及时赶到，救出了沈螺。得知灵珠真相的沈螺要吴居蓝活下去，于是想用真爱之吻将灵珠还给吴剧蓝，但吴居蓝拒绝。随即跳入海中，沈螺也紧跟着追随。灵珠发出微蓝的光芒，吴居蓝的眼泪化成珍珠，沈螺手捧着珍珠，和吴居蓝一起消失在茫茫的大海之中。
