一个是为了看望女友、好不容易踏上旅途的21岁男孩儿圣元，一个是头一次出门到异国旅行的女孩世珍，俩人碰巧搭乘同一趟班机来到新加坡。但是在新加坡机场，俩人因为互相拿错护照发生矛盾，因此结下了不解之缘。 世珍意外地发现胜焕的女朋友彩英原来“脚踏两条船”，另有一个男朋友闵道宪。彩英听说胜焕到新加坡来找她，便把世珍一人留在家中，自己却和道贤跑出去约会。 世珍好心的安慰受伤的胜焕，却莫名其妙的演变成“一夜情”，还有了不想要的孩子馨菲。两个21岁的年轻人为着小孩和家人契约结婚，生活开始了天翻地覆的变化，随着女儿长大，两人的关系得到了缓解，渐生情愫。懂事的馨菲成了家里欢乐的源泉，经常在父母吵嘴时充当“调解员”。，而在这些共同经历中两人也真实地体验到爱情和人生的美妙，就在这一家开始拥有欢乐与幸福时，命运之神却敲响了他们的家门。
