YIK-CHEE wanted to experience the city life of Shanghai, and also to visit PAT-NIN who has now lost his wife. Her father disapproved. The tea in the warehouse keeps on disappearing. YIK-HUN went there and was tricked by the servants. KAN-YE returned and was warmly welcomed, because YU-BIN felt guilty about treating him wrongfully. YIK-CHEE sent a letter home after she ran away, and said she already married PAT-NIN. Her parents became furious. YIK-HUN went to the warehouse again and found AH-SING and AH-KUEN together. AH-SING got away and AH-KUEN started to call rape. His father came and beat him heavily.
