私が一番きれいだったとき わたしの国は戦争で負けた
終戦が近い東京で、母、叔母と共に暮らす19歳の里子は、何度も降り掛かる空襲に恐怖し、結婚適齢期なのに戦況が悪化し結婚など望めそうもない状況に不安を抱いていた。そんな中、丙種により徴兵を免除され、妻子を疎開させ一人で生活している隣人・市毛の身の回りの世話をすることに楽しみを見いだした里子に、いつしか自らのうちに潜む女性としての本能が芽生え…。
