Στην Ελλάδα στα χρόνια της δεκαετίας του '60 στο σπίτι μιας κοινής φίλης, η Άσπα γνωρίζει τον Σταμάτη, νεαρό ανερχόμενο συγγραφέα. Η αρχική συμπάθεια των δυο νέων γρήγορα εξελίσσεται σε έρωτα και το ζευγάρι αποφασίζει να συζήσει. Μετά την επιβολή της δικτατορίας των συνταγματαρχών φεύγουν από την Ελλάδα και εγκαθίστανται στη Ρώμη. Εκεί ο Σταμάτης ασχολείται με τη συγγραφή των μυθιστορημάτων του, ενώ η Άσπα του αφοσιώνεται βαθιά και απόλυτα φροντίζοντας να δημιουργεί πάντα το κατάλληλο περιβάλλον για την απερίσπαστη ενασχόληση του με το γράψιμο...
